~RARE~ AMOS PETTIBONE oak case GLASS & POTTERY ballot box Green Mtn FALLS, CO

c1884 AMOS PETTIBONE ballot box by the National Ballot Co.
Quartersawn oak case – glass top with brass fitting between pottery base – pottery base is from the Pittsburgh Pottery company in Pittsburgh, KS
This ballot box was last used on April 3, 1962 in Green Mountain Falls, CO.
Ballot box comes complete with three working keys, poll book used in last election & a collection of 50 or so used ballots. The case is solid, the glass is in tact as is the pottery!
Colorado had for a long time required glass ballot boxes to allow voters see their ballots drop in the box.
This ballot box was the pinnacle of my collection – I bought this over ten years ago, from a dealer here on eBay. It came from Colorado. Time to pass this gem on to another collector.
I’ve not seen another offered since on eBay or elsewhere.
Great piece for a collector.

In GREAT shape – untouched, clean – and original gilt frame.
I bought this from an antique dealer in Eastern, central NY state – it appears to be a Southeastern scene – possibly latin america. I am not one hundred percent certain. It does have a GREAT look – nice color & again, in great condition.
